Leigh on Sea
question for the beautiful Essex lot.
getting a lift to Leigh by someone who's a shit driver - is it easier to just stay on the A13 via Bread n Cheese Hill rather than follow the sat nav?

Re: Leigh on Sea
Thought was going to be a discussion on the Pros and Cons of Leigh on Sea over Rochford and whether a Mercedes or a Dacia suits Leigh on Sea or Rochford.

Re: Leigh on Sea
The answer's different if
shit driver = bad at navigation
or
shit driver = often drives into things.

Take the simplest route if the former, the route you can go slowest on if the latter.

http://www.echo-news.co.uk/news/13619291.Why_Rochford_folk_often_have_smiles_on_their_faces___/

and I quote....

IF you live in the Rochford district, with its quiet rural villages and prosperous, bustling town centres, you’re likely to be among the happiest Britons around.

The claim has been made after an Office of National Statistics survey ranked the district among ten places in the UK where the most residents were satisfied, happy people.

It has been suggested it’s a combination of heritage, low crime, community spirit, traditional pubs, beautiful open spaces, such as Cherry Orchard Country Park, traditional rural villages, high house prices, school performance, and easy transport links to London and Southend.

Whatever the reason, most locals seem to agree it’s a great place to live, work and play.

Ahhhhhhh.... Bisto!!

Re: Leigh on Sea
"The following places" [NOT including Rochford] "have been explicitly granted or confirmed the use of the title "royal" by royal charter, letters patent or similar instrument issued by the monarch. Since 1926 the entitlement to the title "royal borough" has been strictly enforced. Devizes in Wiltshire, which had previously used the title without sanction, was forced to end the practice."

(see Wiki for the list)

Rochford is in deep shit. It's going to go the same way as Devizes when her Maj finds out.

Re: Leigh on Sea
geep... I call it Royal Rochford....no one else... it's more the Anne Boleyn and Lord Rochford link dating back to 'Enry the 8th... rather than her madge' giving the green light
